Your body is designed to be healthy. To be able to express your full health potential you need optimal cell function. Optimal cell health depends on you providing the body with the elements that cells require for proper function and avoid those elements that are toxic by nature. Water is at the very top of the list of essential elements. When we first are born 79% of our body weight is water this number progressively decreases with ageing.
Water is critical in almost all of our bodies’ functions, including but not limited to: digestion, circulation, elimination of toxic waist products and healing. In fact our bodies can survive for weeks without food but only days without water. Symptoms of dehydration include constipation, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, weight gain, skin, hair and nail issues, as well as premature aging. As with all essential elements, water should not be thought of as a “treatment” for dehydration or a way to avoid constipation; rather, hydration is a critical component of a healthy lifestyle. Air is no more a “treatment for suffocation” than water is a treatment for thirst. Ideally, we should rarely, if ever, experience thirst. We should simply drink water – and drink often. Hydration is critical.
I found that people that develop a habit of always taking a bottle to their work space or whenever they leave the house ends up increasing their water intake substantially.
Look after yourself and stay hydrated.
